ABOUT
Hi there! I'm Göktuğ Başaran, a passionate Computer Engineer and a graduate of Istanbul Technical University. I currently work at Trendyol as a Developer in Test, contributing to mobile app quality through both manual and automated testing. My past roles at Huawei and YapıKredi involved mobile development and software test automation.
I don't define myself solely as a test engineer — I'm deeply curious about all areas of software and always eager to learn and build. In my free time, I work on side projects, learn new technologies, and create educational content on my YouTube channel. I co-founded Uzaktan Akademi to make tech education more accessible and collaborative.

EXPERIENCE
TrendyolDeveloper in Test
- Developed a component-based snapshot testing system for iOS UI Tests, boosting test coverage and stability.
- Built a Scroll Helper that cut UI test suite duration by ~50%.
- Led a revamp of the entire SDET interview process, focusing on maintainability and documentation.
- Designed and ran load tests ahead of high-traffic campaign periods.
- Gave a talk at Trendyol Test Days 2024.
- Designed and executed manual and automated tests for Trendyol & Trendyolmilla iOS apps.
HuaweiSoftware Test Engineer
- Built an end-to-end automation test suite for Petal Maps Studio web app from scratch.
- Created test scenarios for both web and mobile versions of Petal Maps.
- Conducted non-functional tests including performance and security.
Yapı KrediMobile Developer Intern
- Implemented the "Contacts" feature in the Corporate Mobile Banking App.
- Gained experience in mobile software development within a large team.
Diebold NixdorfSoftware Engineer Intern
- Developed a Java-based tool allowing remote access to ATM BIOS settings.
- Authored test plans and developer documentation.
- Promoted from intern to full-time contract during the project.

Dopamine Swap - iOS App
An iOS app helping 15,000+ users reclaim 3+ hours daily from their phones. Transforms unconscious scrolling into mindful moments with our proven Dopamine Score system. Features include usage analytics, habit tracking, and personalized insights. 100% privacy-focused with all data stored on-device.
Kan Bağı Mobile Application
A non-profit social networking mobile app for the Turkish community, connecting blood donors with those in need. Features include post sharing, push notifications for nearby requests, and secure in-app communication to facilitate the donation process. Soon launching on the App Store.
Uzaktan Akademi YouTube Channel
Co-founded a YouTube channel aimed at making higher education freely accessible. Created and delivered various free courses, including "Introduction to Programming with C" and "Web Applications with Flask", "Famous Interview Questions". Collaborated with Bilgi, Yıldız Techinal, Bahçeşehir, and other universities to give lectures on Python and C programming.
ITUNOM UAV Team
Contributed to a multi-disciplinary student team designing, manufacturing, and programming Unmanned Aerial Vehicles for international competitions like AUVSI SUAS 2019 (ranked 8th) and Teknofest Fighter UAV 2019 (ranked 1st). Developed algorithms for autonomous flight, obstacle avoidance, and object detection.
